Sangiovese

Sangiovese is an Italian, black grape variety hat derives its name from the Latin sanguis Jovis, "the blood of Jupiter", producing wines high in tannins and acidity. The wines often have flavours of tart cherry, red plum, strawberry, fig, roasted pepper, tomato, leather, clay, brick, tobacco, smoke, oregano, thyme, dried roses, and potpourri.
