Zinfandel

Zinfandel is widely regarded as an American wine, but it originated in Croatia. It is also known as Primitivo (Italy) or Tribidrag (Croatia). This black grape varietal produces light-bodied wines with flavours of jam, blueberry, black pepper, cherry, plum, boysenberry, cranberry and liquorice. When you taste Zinfandel it often explodes with candied fruitiness followed by spice and often a tobacco-like smoky finish.
