Syrah

Syrah is another name for Shiraz which is a French black grape variety that is thick-skinned and has small berries. Generally speaking, Syrah refers to a softer Northern Rhône style wine, whereas Shiraz refers to a bolder, riper New World style wine. Dominant flavours include ripe flavours of cooked black fruits and liquorice, smokiness, spice flavours, leathery, earthy, meaty and dried-fruits.
